Vada a South Indian breakfast in Indian households ….  Vadas are Urad dal Batter balls fried in an oil and served with Coconut Chutney or Sambhar .Key factor involved in softer Vadas is

soak the Urad dal in the mixer place it in the refrigerator and then next morning use the same bowl for grinding with the cooling effect the batter will be fluffy resulting in softer Vadas . I have seen  my mom doing this  so I implement the same tip .

Ingredients :

1 cup of Urad dal

Water- very little for thick batter

Oil – To fry

Take the mixer from the refrigerator and add very little amount of water and then grind into a thick batter . when the batter is ready Heat oil in a Kadai or Frying Pan . wet the palm, take some batter and flatten to a round shape, make a hole in the center with your thumb and slowly slide into the hot oil. this batter should yield 12-15 medium sized Vadas.fry them to a nice golden color and then Place them on the paper towel to take out the excess oil .  Hot Vadas are ready to eat . as per this recipe these Vadas are crispy and soft from inside .

you can also use dough nut maker available in the stores to get perfect round shape I used my palm as the base and then placed them in hot oil to fry  . .  Vadas are ready to serve with coconut chutney or Sambhar
